Open Forum on October 8, 2022
The Open Forum featured special guest speaker, Sheriff Mike Chitwood.
Sheriff Chitwood spoke about some of the current scams going around the community and how to avoid becoming involved. He also mentioned possible scams in our area from unlicensed contractors wanting to provide services following Hurricane Ian. Should someone approach us we should first check to see their license. If they cannot provide it we should immediately call 911 to report them.
The Sheriff also brought us up-to-date on some of the programs he has initiated in the county, like direct hire and training of new recruits for our county and a new program for assessing juvenile offenders to assure they get the proper services and placement.
Several residents asked questions or made comments.
Marcel did speak about the situation here in SummerTrees III and what is being accomplished.
About 50 residents were in attendance
The meeting was adjourned at 11:00. Refreshments were provided by the Social Club.
